Food Committee Meeting Report March 2010

Present: Bill Reyner, Margaret Arvey Robin Schwarz, Timothy Gustie, Kevin Speer, Rob Oosterhuis.

Management Report.

Management presented a breakdown of new hours starting in April; including weekend breakfast 9-11, Sunday suppers and longer hours for the Cafe. Member support will be essential to maintain the breakfast.

Coral Café

Newly expanded menu was presented with many more choices including "build your own" choices and many more salads. It will be effective 3/24.  (see menu below). Everyone was pleased.

Tydes

The Food C. suggested that a simple club menu be created that is served in the Member Dining room. This under-used area would then be used more by club members and it would capture a different demographic. The theme would be simpler more club oriented food. Management responded that this would be challenging to do given the proximity of the rooms. The FC cited the example of the Ranch and suggested that it be given further consideration.

Guest Lounge

1. Beverage service is now permitted in the Guest Lounge, logistics are being refined.

2.  Nuts or some other cocktail snack are being worked on to help restore the club's traditional cocktail hour.

3. The FC suggested that If the above are a success, consider an official Happy Hour. Happy Hour prices were mentioned in passing: that will be on the agenda next month. At the moment Happy hour drink prices are less at Tydes!

 Fins

FC would like to see an increase in hours and items served as weather warms. We would like to see more service  geared toward kids: milkshakes, snacks, hot dogs? Still the best place to get a latte.

Management is looking at these.
